A distressing accident unfolded on Tuesday morning in the Barshul Mod area under Shaktigarh police station of East Burdwan district, involving a collision between a bus and a water tanker.

Eyewitnesses recounted that the bus, traveling from Barshul towards Shaktigarh via Burdwan, was struck from behind by a water tanker en route to Kolkata. The impact was severe, causing the bus to overturn and resulting in injuries to at least 8 to 9 individuals, who were promptly rescued by locals and rushed to Barshul Rural Hospital for medical attention.

Most of the injured have since been discharged after receiving treatment at Barshul Rural Hospital, except for one child whose condition remains critical. The child has been transferred to Burdwan Medical for further care, highlighting the gravity of the incident and the ongoing efforts to address its aftermath.
